Fashionably Shocking

Flawless Faces & Fabulous Fashion! Last night was no shocker when it came to glam getups at the 2012 Met Gala. Every year the Gala is held to open the Metropolitan Museum's Fashion exhibit in NYC where the red carpet is rolled out and the stars strut their stuff at what I think is THE most exciting red carpet when it comes to fashion. Check out few of my favorite Stunners.

Gwyneth Paltrow, in Prada... OMG could she be any more perfect in that dress and those heels?!?

Gettin' Down and Dirty

Every Spring I like to get down & dirty... and do some planting. I love growing my own fruits & veggies to enjoy the benefits of truly fresh food. I am by all means just a beginner gardener... and you know what? I'm quite satisfied with being a beginner. Last year I made out 50/50 with my growing success because I tried to step up to intermediate... I attempted to grow bell peppers from seedlings, needless to say I was not eating bell peppers as I had so ambitiously hoped. The year before that it was a Strawberry Topsy Turvey fiasco! So this year I'm doing it right... I'm not striving for over achiever status, I'm keeping it simple. Here are my steps to simple gardening. It all starts with a visit to your garden supply store then finding the plants that are already growing!!! :) Grab a bag or two of Miracle Grow Gardening Soil, if you are planting in containers make sure to get those too.... usually big ones are best, you don't want to over crowd your plants. Now get home and start planting!

1-Fill your containers with soil, skip this step if you are planting in the ground ;)

2- Dig a hole

3- Pop your already growing plant in the hole
4- Surround it with soil

5- Water and put in the sun

Each plant is different so make sure you read their care labels.
This year I'm looking forward to Sweet Basil, Sweet Peppers, Hot Peppers, Japanese Eggplant and Beef Steak Tomatoes
So Easy! I hope you give it a try, let me know how your plants turn out :)

Super Trifecta Margarita, Anyone?

Today there are three major events happening, are you ready to celebrate all three? I certainly am, its been a loooong week and I'm ready to be moon gazing while sippin' a Margarita in a huge outrageous hat :)

A Super Moon happens around once a year. Your chance is tonight to check it out. A Super Moon appears about 30% larger then a normal full moon. Happy Moon Gazing.

Every May the Kentucky Derby Takes place in... you guessed! KENTUCKY, at the Beautiful Church Hill Downs Racetrack. This is the 138th race, so grab a traditional Derby Mint Julep Drink and enjoy the fastest, 'most exciting two minutes' in sports

Celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Nope, its not just a day to grab Margaritas... but no one will judge if you do! Its a day to Celebrate Victory for a Mexican Army that was outnumbered in the year 1862 almost by half its size. Hey, don't under estimate the little guy! and if anyone asks today its NOT Mexico's Independence day... that's it September.

Happy Super Moon, Kentucky Derby, and Cinco de Mayo Everyone! NOW you can go get your Margarita!
